This analysis draws upon two previous reports that examine the legal framework governing political parties in Albania. It highlights the key legal gaps identified in the existing regulations and discusses the proposed solutions to address these shortcomings. In addition, the analysis presents alternative solutions tailored to Albania’s specific domestic context, emphasising the critical need for further democratisation within political parties and enhanced financial transparency.
The report concludes with a set of comprehensive recommendations for amendments to the legal framework, which also include suggestions for improving the self-regulation of political parties, aiming to foster a more transparent, accountable, and democratic political environment.
