Shaun Martinez

Shaun Martinez is the LGBT+ Technical Advisor on the GEP II. Shaun has over 20 years’ experience working on human rights, inclusion and participation across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. He has a keen interest in the access to rights of marginalised populations particularly LGBTIQ+ people, sex workers, women, and people living with disabilities, and where discrimination on these grounds intersects with others such as race, ethnicity and poverty to create even greater challenges. Shaun holds a post-graduate degree in law in human rights and has previously worked for the UN, The EU, the International Commission of Jurists and Protection International.
