Julie Elliott MP

Julie Elliott is the Labour MP for Sunderland Central.

Julie was elected to Parliament in 2010 and sits on the Culture, Media and Sport Committee and Speakers Conference. Julie previously served on the European Scrutiny Committee and the Business and Skills Select Committee and was the Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate change between 2013 and 2015.

Julie is a member of APPGs across a wide range of subjects, including on the Arab World, Kidneys, United Nations Women and the North East.

Prior to becoming and MP, Julie was a regional organiser for the Labour Party, and worked for the National Asthma Campaign and the GMB Trade Union. Julie is passionate about employment, skills, regeneration, health inequalities, and education.
