Political parties are key actors in democratic governance. As Head of Practice for Political Parties and Movements, Adele is WFD's in-house expert on political parties, supporting effective programming with political parties across the global portfolio.

Adele is an expert in governance, democracy, and women’s political leadership and has been managing political party programmes within WFD for 8 years. She has an extensive political network and has worked with political parties on internal governance, gender equality, and campaigning strategies in over 20 countries.

Adele has fifteen years’ experience of working in international development and has published research on political party governance, accountability, and human rights, as well as written for the Guardian (UK) and Mail & Guardian (South Africa). She worked for national civil society organisations in the United States, South Africa, and Ghana from 2009-2014, managing programmes with governments and civil society to effectively use international human rights mechanisms. Adele has a master's degree in the Study of Religion from SOAS, London and and LLM from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.
