The primary aim of the Political Party Transparency Index, conducted in August 2023, is to foster transparency and accountability within political parties. Recognizing the pivotal role of robust, transparent, and responsible political parties in a healthy democracy, the assessment strives to promote intra-party democracy, enhance financial transparency, and facilitate public information. 

The Index, carried out between June and August 2023, focused on eight political parties in North Macedonia: Alternativa, Alliance of Albanians, Besa, VMRO-DPMNE, Democratic Union for Integration, Liberal Democratic Party, New Social Democratic Party, and Social Democratic Union of Macedonia. 

On October 10, WFD organized a conference to unveil the results of the PPTI assessment in the form of a summary analysis. This event featured insights from experts, academics, and practitioners from the region, providing a comprehensive analysis of political party transparency. Participants included representatives from the participating political parties, international organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), and think tanks.
