WFD, in collaboration with the Moroccan House of Representatives, is implementing the Youth Inclusion Programme, aiming to assess parliament's responsiveness to the needs of young people. Through fostering dialogue between youth groups and parliamentary representatives, the programme seeks to bridge policy gaps and ensure youth voices are heard in decision-making processes.

At the end of March 2023, WFD Morocco organised a training for representatives of youth CSOs and youth wings of political parties, promoting positive change and inclusivity in policy-making. The training session, which attracted 23 dynamic youth groups, focused on refining research techniques and advocating for evidence-based policies.

The training provided participants with a platform to enhance their skills in identifying priorities and needs, laying the foundation for impactful change in future phases of the programme. We extend our sincere gratitude to our partner, the House of Representatives, for graciously hosting another insightful training session.

Building on insights from previous sessions, participants delved into the process of transforming problem trees into objective trees—a crucial tool in policy development. They applied this technique to address pertinent policy issues, including unemployment, school overcrowding, education system deficiencies, and healthcare accessibility in remote areas.

From crafting and administering focus groups and questionnaires to analysing SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analyses and formulating SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals, participants immersed themselves in a range of activities.

Looking ahead, the programme will focus on equipping participants with the skills to craft persuasive policy messages and advocate effectively before decision-makers, further enhancing their impact on policy change.

The conclusion of the training marks not just an end, but the beginning of a journey towards empowering youth to drive evidence-based policy change in Morocco. Guided by newfound knowledge and unwavering determination, we remain committed to nurturing a generation of change-makers poised to make a tangible difference in their communities and beyond.
