Introduction

The volunteering programs within the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia have long been celebrated as a success story. Over the years, both the Assembly and its volunteers have gained significant benefits from these initiatives. The employees of the Assembly proudly remember such programs, but also the volunteers with whom they had the opportunity to cooperate during the volunteer programs.

In light of this, the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) in North Macedonia, as part of the "Democracy Works" project funded by the British Embassy, has partnered with the Assembly of North Macedonia to revive this tradition. We have created a new Program for volunteers that offers 20 young people a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and learn about democracy firsthand at the heart of our nation's democratic processes—the Assembly.

Through this program, the Assembly will get the opportunity to bring its work closer to young people and at the same time it will increase its professionalism, promptness and credibility.

Through detailed lectures on the political system, democratic values, the role of Parliament, and the role of citizens and youth, the Program aspires to increase the number of young people engaging in political events, voting in elections, and inspire action to address social issues. The volunteer work in the Assembly also aims to contribute to building a participatory political culture among young people.

It is our honor to invite all interested candidates to apply on the public call based on which volunteer work is organized in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.
